This picture shows a fictional representation of two P-38s on a mission over New Guinea in 1944. The reason this is fictional is because it shows two aircraft flown by Maj. Richard Ira Bong, the highest scoring air ace on the US side. He used both of these aircraft but as far as I know they never flew together.
You will also see some renders of the model and textures that I've been working on.
The 3d work is done in Houdini and Redshift using custom material generation tools evolved from what you can see in my Spitfire showcase, as well as some photoshop and substance painter for basic colour assignment and masking. The pilot is a combo of traditional modeling and zbrush. The secondary renders use an HDRI that I created myself using PTGUI.
The 2d work is mostly done in Rebelle 5, with a bit of Photoshop as an overpaint of some exploratory low res image generation in Stable Diffusion and Midjourney.
