Polly wants a cracker

The squadron mascotte of 322 (Dutch) Squadron was Polly Grey, a parrot. This image depicts one of its Spitfires hunting for butcher bird when flying escort for Dakotas landing for operation Market Garden. This image was made for a calendar in 2008. I found out later this spitfire was flown by Pieter Cramerus who has an amazing life story. He is about to celebrate his 100th birthday!
